College of Veterinary Medicine &
Dedication to the health of humans, animals and the environment is the driving force behind all of the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences’ (CVM) discoveries, learning and care. We take pride in our culture of change and innovation in an environment of inclusion.
The college was established in 1916 and since that time, we have graduated nearly 8,000 veterinarians.
CVM is one of the largest colleges of veterinary medicine in the country and consistently ranks among the top nationally. Every qualified member of the second- through fourth-year veterinary classes receives at least one scholarship.
Our Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) undergraduate program is the largest pre-professional program in Texas, and our students make up a large percentage of Aggies admitted to Texas medical, dental, and veterinary schools. Students at 12 participating Texas community colleges are able to apply and transfer to Texas A&M as BIMS majors.
In the fall of 2016, the new Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex opened as a state-of-the art educational facility that will become the cornerstone of our veterinary medical complex. New classrooms and laboratory space in the facility are outfitted with the latest technological advances and open a new world of innovation in education.
For graduate students, the CVM offers diverse degree options, including a doctoral degree in biomedical sciences and master’s degrees in biomedical sciences, science and technology journalism, and veterinary public health-epidemiology.
The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital teaches students in a real-world, clinical setting while providing the community with world-class animal care.
