They say experience is the best teacher. In the Texas A&M College of Science, we feature many of the world’s best—experiences and teachers.
Our first-class faculty includes three Nobel laureates, six National Academy of Sciences members, six Academy of Arts and Sciences members, six Presidential Professors for Teaching Excellence, and dozens of distinguished professors and Distinguished Achievement Award winners in both teaching and research. And they don’t teach just our majors; they deliver the same high-quality science and mathematics instruction for all Texas A&M students.
As a college, we work hard to position our students for academic success, offering 30 degree programs across five departments (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and Statistics). Beyond the traditional classroom experience, we encourage our students to explore research firsthand as early as their sophomore year. Roughly 50 percent of our undergraduate majors are involved in research each year, and 70 percent of them go on to graduate or professional school.
It’s a fact that students who start with us end up going places, more quickly than they do in any other college at Texas A&M. Students who start with Texas A&M Science are the most successful university-wide at graduating in four years, regardless of whether they stay in science or transfer to another college. Our graduates go into influential leadership positions in many world-changing areas, including industry, academia, healthcare, business and government.
Education can take you places you never dreamed possible. If you’re ready to explore those possibilities through science and to make the best of your Texas A&M experience, we’ll do our best to help you make a career out of curiosity.
